The employee in this position performs technical work to provide support for company software products, the development of new systems, and the continued involvement through customer account management. The job
also involves supporting the company’s implementation and upgrade projects by providing analysis, development, modification and refinements of developed software.
Responsibilities:
- Performs analysis and design of complex computer applications; provides technical recommendations for the ongoing enhancement of the company’s software products.
- Develops, maintains and updates technical documentation such as system configurations, procedures, problem fixes, and client support procedures. Develops updates and distributes user instructional documentation
as needed.
- Provides technical design, development and quality assurance effort in the completion of project tasks as described in project request work orders.
- Provides troubleshooting, problem correction, assistance and instruction to client staff remotely to resolve software problems or to generally support the client’s use of the systems. Determines client needs; recommends
and implements approved solutions to ensure minimum delay and effective operation for system users.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies. Shares acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels. Encourages more junior employees to take responsibility
for their development within the company.
- Participates regularly in the recruitment of new hires through our interviewing process and involvement in recruiting events.
- Actively contributes to internal programs.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Considerable knowledge of computer systems, office automation and Windows software applications.
- Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging.
- Understands advanced relational database concepts. Demonstrates proficiency with physical and logical database design. Possesses demonstrated work experience with at least one relational database management system.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft .NET Technologies, Sybase PowerBuilder, or relevant development environments and supported languages.
- Understands client server and internet systems architectures.
- Ability to maintain and be responsible for certain company equipment such as notebooks, PDAs and cell phones.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees and client staff.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task to meet standard response times and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Two or more years of progressively responsible related experience in an information technology position.
- Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
