The Malone University, Physical Plant Maintenance Department is conducting a search for a full-time Assistant Manager.  The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in all activities of the Physical Plant Maintenance Department as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.  This may include general supervision of all Maintenance Department colleagues in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and all aspects of construction management. Corrective, preventive and facility improvement maintenance are the primary responsibilities of this position. The position will work with the Maintenance Manager to assure that all duties and responsibilities are successfully completed in a safe and efficient manner.   Must exhibit a personal understanding of, and operate in concert with the Mission statement and Foundational Principles of the University.  An Associate Degree in project or construction management or related field is required.  A Bachelor  Degree with a similar focus is preferred.    Previous, applicable experience in the general maintenance field of at least 5 years is required.  Experience and considerable knowledge in the areas of plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, blue print and diagram reading would be preferred.  A proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing is essential.  Proven effective relational skills are also required.   A demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of people, a commitment to diversity, and a demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently is essential.  Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) is required. The ability to master new computer-based systems promptly and proficiently is essential.  In particular, must become proficient in Jenzabar and SchoolDude – university proprietary database.   Proven time management skills, the ability to prioritize and record keeping abilities are essential. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality of sensitive materials is essential. Current valid driver’s license is required. Hours per week may vary based on the needs and fluctuations of the position.
