We’re helping an exciting Start-Up in the Bay area turn an old fashion, outdated industry on its head! In a market that sold over $25B of food/products in 2016, all/most are producing the same mass-produced & generic products. We’re using technology, data and a huge focus on nutrition to deliver a more customizable and healthy solution/experience.  With dramatically different products that speak for themselves, and newly deployed customized systems and technologies design by some of the areas most talented cracker jack engineers, we are expecting a sizable disruption in the industry.  
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer the Brand Strategist will be responsible for helping define and deliver the marketing strategy and product differentiators. The selected marketing expert will build the messaging that will enable sales teams to deliver clear and accurate product information. This role will focus on strategy and the tactical implementation of product marketing launches. While owning the brand strategy this director (or manager) will own all customer touch points including web & digital, sales/conversion funnels, product packaging, print as well as all customer communications (related to products)
As part of this fast paced start-up candidates will be responsible for other marketing (and non-marketing) projects and programs as they continue to build out new teams and products. Our client is still at the “all hands on deck” stage and looking for folks who are interested in being part of this exciting period of growth and success.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the brand through the supply chain including both tangible and intangible
  • Create brand strategies and ensure all aspects of the product marketing and activities align with the overall company culture and character
  • Develop high quality and effective marketing materials
  • Create enduring brand messages that result in increased sales and brand loyalty
  • Work closely across all business teams to ensure commercial goals of the brand are met
  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with all stakeholders 
  • Manage external agencies and other vendors ensuring correct messaging and vision is being delivered
  • Deliver on going reporting to ensure sales and marketing goals are being achieved
Suggested Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in customer focused (B2C) marketing roles
  • Proven track record of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work across various teams/organizations to gain consensus on new ideas
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Creative and Entrepreneurial with a strong eye for details
  • Understanding of evolving design principals
  • Experience (and passion) for data and using data to make informed decisions
  • Driven by success and accountability
