Director of Operations is responsible for all safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people aspects of the facilities in the  business unit. The senior manufacturing leader at each company site reports directly to this position.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understand and execute all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Provide a robust vision and crystal clear expectations for the manufacturing network that are supportive of the direction of the VP, Operations and the manufacturing strategy of the Company.
  • Lead the development/deployment of common manufacturing related core procedures that support the company Production System requirements and work in concert with other functions in the manufacturing network.
  • Define the appropriate resource staffing of the network and manage compliance to the standard staffing with the site leadership.
  • Maintain a skills assessment for all members of the network and manage the training of those members through the site manufacturing leadership.
  • Drive cost improvement (CI) through the network to meet targets set.
  • Drive the reporting of metrics from the network, assist in the analysis of the data, and work with the network site leadership to establish robust actions for improvement.
  • Actively work to promote and recognize good performance in the network.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to manufacturing.
  • Ensure network membership conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in engineering or a manufacturing field is required.
  • Eight years experience in leading large, multi-plant, low volume manufacturing operations, driving new and innovative processes.
  • Experience leading at a Director level required.
  • Fluency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools required.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with an ability to extract conclusions from available data and “tell a story.”
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods.
