• Leading, managing, developing and coordinating the PASS Americas Engineering team (Process Engineers & Project Managers) in the delivery of custom and standard bioprocessing equipment across the company's Biotechnology catalog. Scope inclusive of all project phases: quotation, design, fabrication, testing, and customer site acceptance.

• Responsible for achieving key business results by managing the engineering team’s ability to meet key metrics; specifically ensuring projects are delivered On-Time, Within Budget, and In Accordance to Spec.

• Develop top talent within the engineering organization.

• Leverage robust project management and operational management tools to proactively identify and resolve project delivery challenges and operational issues.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Resource management and planning for engineering resources to properly support the project pipeline.

• Oversight of project execution, and responsible for project status reporting to site leaders and senior management.

• Main contact for sales organization to evaluate, discuss and develop sales strategy and quotations for new commercial opportunities.

• Verify and supervise preparation of quotations including risk assessment procedures

• Administrative management activities

• Drive people development and continuous improvement processes


Skills and Knowledge:

• To work safely and to comply with the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

• Driving License

• Capability to overtake responsibility and leadership in multi cultural projects



• BS/MS or equivalent in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biochemical engineering or equivalent. A higher degree or secondary degree in a related subject would be an advantage.


Previous Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience of process engineering / project management of equipment used in Biopharmaceutical manufacturing including large scale and complex projects involving the integration of multiple systems.

• Proven track record of having lead and successfully executed various complex large scale projects within the biopharmaceutical industry.

• Experience of working with outside subcontractors including mechanical fabricators, electrical fabricators, Software designers and automation experts.

• Experience in qualification activities (FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ) for process equipment in the biopharmaceutical industry.

• Leadership experience in a technical Biopharmaceutical environment.

• Ability to review and comment customer URS for biopharmaceutical equipment, and evaluate possible technologies or designs to meet customer requirements.

• Understanding of filtration separation and purification technologies used in the downstream processing (Direct flow filtration, tangential flow filtration, chromatography)

• Knowledge and understanding of the current industry guidelines for designing, manufacturing, testing and documenting biopharmaceutical process equipment. (ASME BPE, GAMP, cGMP, ISPE, etc.)

• Project management experience for the execution of system projects in accordance to the defined specifications, time schedule and cost.

• Ability and willingness to work in a multinational and interdisciplinary team with a high degree of travelling.

• Ability to communicate effectively on complex technical / engineering issues at the highest level. Pall internal as well as with the customer.

• Language skills English preferably German or French as an addition.
