Excellent opportunity for a Human Resource Generalist at a successful, privately held specialty products manufacture in Southwestern Michigan. The company sells products through both retail and wholesale distribution networks throughout the U.S. and Canada. Works closely with the Senior Leadership team, including the Plant Manager and company President.  
  • Selects and assigns hourly staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion.
  • Coordinates hourly employee benefit programs such as performance appraisal, service awards, incentive plans, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement programs, incentive programs and more.
  • Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
  • Coordinate and maintain personnel transactions and record-keeping, including insurance, longevity, retirement, and disability.
  • Responsible for hourly personnel administration, including promotions, transfers, workers’ compensation claims, demotions, suspensions, layoffs, and dismissals.
  • Applies the laws, regulations, and principles of equal employment opportunity to personnel situations such as with EEO, AAP, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, FLSA, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, MIOSHA.
  • Counsels management and employees on grievances and other complaints originating from individual work situations or work environments.
  • Lead activity to support company EHS.
  • Performs related work as assigned and not limited to description details contained above.
 
Position requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources functions in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with the policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations of personnel administration, Also, requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Reporting
The Human Resources Generalist will report to the President/ CEO.
