Inside Sales Assistant

Our client, a leader in the equipment industry, has exciting opportunities for an entry-level position which qualifies leads for commercial equipment or services over the telephone utilizing a Sales CRM database system. This individual will assist Territory Sales Manager(s) in generating leads, organizing database, handle customer questions, and assist in marketing strategies and prospecting. Employees with a proven track record will have the opportunity for advancement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Calls prospective customers in designated chain or territory area to qualify leads and explain type

    of service or product offered.

  • Periodic review of calls will be performed.

  • Helps develop an established script to use when calling prospects.

  • Builds and maintain customer relationships.

  • Inform current and prospective customers of current promotions and new or upgraded products.

  • Enters names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects solicited into computer database


  • Follows up with customers to assure satisfaction, respond to queries, solicit further sales, and

    solve or refer problems.

  • Develops lists of prospects from city and telephone directories, trade and professional association

    membership lists, and other public records.

  • Prepares the report on sales activities.

  • Assist in other clerical duties as needed, such as direct mailing, photocopying, and collating.

  • Other related duties may be assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree or two-five years of proven success in a sales position.

  • Experience in cold-calling is beneficial. Knowledge of equipment and/or selling

    skills is helpful. Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, and

    interpersonal skills are necessary.

  • CFSP Certification or to be obtained within two years after hire date (provided by the Company).

    Equipment and Applications

    General knowledge of personal computer utilizing Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Knowledge of database applications such as ACT or Access is helpful.

  • Sales: Knowledge of the company’s products is helpful. Excellent time management,

    communications, decision-making, and organizational skills are required.

  • Communication: Speaks clearly and listens to get clarification; Responds well to questions.

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,

    or diagram form.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    General office environment. Due to the nature of this sales position, stress may occur at times. Typically, limited or minimal travel may be requested and frequency will be determined based on the needs of the territory manager.
