Inventory Specialist

The inventory specialist performs data entry duties, cycle counts, accuracy reporting, and inventory transactions. They will assist in the order fulfillment process and inventory movement. They will provide administrative support for Operations and Parts Department staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • A clear understanding of inventory process, adjustments and transaction cause, and effect.

  • Understanding of cost accounting methods as it relates to inventory values.

  • Maintenance of finished goods inventory

  • Identify and perform daily cycle counts

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of returns and exchanges.

  • Scanning and filing Data Sheets, Sales Orders, Modifications, and BOLs.

  • Identify and pull parts inventory for engineering and refurbishment technicians

  • Reconcile Inventory reports prior to distribution.

  • Create and distribute daily Inventory Reports on the share drive.

  • Processes repair/parts disposition via data entry through SAGE100 i.e. stands, legs etc.

  • Prints sales orders and verifies all required information on customer orders received from sales, model

    number, quantity, ship-to address, need date and pricing.

  • Process returned items and identify RMA material

  • Research exchange information.

  • Through SAGE100, processes receipts from Manufacturer.

  • Performs data entry functions i.e., Inventory Transactions, SAGE100 entries.

  • Creating spreadsheets, charts, and/or similar documents to communicate metrics such as Inventory

    Record Accuracy, On-Time Delivery, and Delivery Accuracy.

  • Works closely with Parts Department in maintaining accurate inventory records.

  • Acts as backup for Traffic Supervisor, and Parts Specialist.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Knowledge of the company’s products is helpful. Excellent time management, communications, decision- making, and organizational skills are required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum Associates degree in Business or related degree.

  • Three or more years related experience and/or training in Manufacturing / Inventory Control; or equivalent

    combination of education and experience.

  • Data Entry skills must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.

  • General knowledge of personal computer utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.

    Knowledge of MRP systems applications is very helpful.
