THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
Responsible for planning and coordinating the process of purchasing materials from foreign suppliers for production. Responsible for production scheduling, plans and forecasts the need of materials to meet customer orders.  Aids in the development of policies and procedures in the areas of procurement and inventory control.  Expected to play a key role in the management of inventory.  Communicates with Suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and manages the delivery of appropriate quantity levels based on the increase or decrease of customer demand.   Reports to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Conduct cycle counts on required materials as scheduled
  • Research reasons behind inventory discrepancies and aid in the corrective actions of the root causes
  • Must consider best price, quality, and reliability when purchasing products
  • Arranges the safe transport of materials
  • Ensures materials and parts in the supply chain meet the minimum requirements for quality assurance standards
  • Places purchase orders
  • Aids in the development of procedures in the areas of inventory control, receiving, storage and distribution of materials throughout the plant
  • Interface directly with all departments in regard to materials that have been requested to ascertain specifications and needs
  • Maintains adequate supply levels through the supply chain
  • Follows established safe practices for receiving hazardous substances
  • Send invoices, receive invoice payments, record on spreadsheet and deposit weekly invoice payments.
  • Customer contact in issues/questions arising from shipments or invoices, resolve problems
  • Assist internal sales team (Chicago) as needed
  • Be a conduit of information between Camden and Chicago
  • Inventory assistance as needed
  • Arrange freight pick-ups and get freight quotes for salespeople
  • Track shipments for customers and sales people 
    BACKGROUND PROFILE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, logistics or other applicable discipline preferred
  • 5 years manufacturing, supply chain, and/or logistics
  • SAP Experience
  • Experience in Lean / 5s environment
  • Strong communication skills- written, verbal/interpersonal, phone, & electronic
  • Strong Organization skills and demonstrated management skills
