Mechanical Engineer, HVAC
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer, HVAC, for our customer in Westminster Colorado. The Mechanical Engineer will be part of a small and very successful engineering firm that works hard to balance life and work, and believes our projects should be as unique and interesting as our associates. Since we support the idea of humans having a smaller carbon footprint, a flexible work environment.
The Mechanical Engineer should have a strong work history with HVAC systems design, AutoCAD, REVIT, Energy Modeling, and be able to lead projects and mentor junior engineers. This position will interact with customers on a daily basis, so the Mechanical Engineer must have a professional demeanor and full understanding of building mechanical systems.
Mechanical Engineer responsibilities
Active Professional Engineering certification
Strong leadership role and be responsible for HVAC technical quality, designs and Project leader
HVAC systems designs include 4-pipe hydronic, water source heat pumps, VRV/VRF, packaged RTU's and split system DX
Interact heavily with our customers and requires strong written and oral communication skills
Production drawings, redline drafting, submittal review, project management, site reviews and RFI responses
Self-driven, works well with others, good communications skills
Work closely with the PM including the design of HVAC systems and Construction Administration
Manage your projects within the office and effectively work with team members, CAD/Revit technicians and other staff members to meet deadlines.
Mechanical Engineer skills and Education:
Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Active Professional Engineering (PE) Certification
Minimum six (6) years in Commercial or Industrial HVAC and Plumbing design consulting
Knowledge of ASHRAE code for comfort cooling, commercial and/or industrial ventilation, and dust collection
Prior work history as a team leader or project leader position
Must possess a valid and active driver's license
Technical report writing
Demonstrated leadership ability
AutoCAD experience (REVIT is beneficial)
3D Modeling and estimating projects
Mechanical Engineer Physical requirements;
While performing the duties of this job, the Mechanical Engineer is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
This position must also be able to perform industrial field work which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.
