Nationally renowned hospitality interior design firm seeks extremely talented hospitality designer to join their team and add to their excellence. The perfect applicant will fulfill the requirements as outlined below, with an emphasis on AutoCAD and spec writing skills, material estimates and design documentation procurement abilities, and NCIDQ certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with firm’s team on project design development
Develop and create design materials (drawings and digital) to communicate design concepts for lighting design, furniture layouts, carpet design, and finish placements, using appropriate software
Oversee and document: material selection, FF&E selections and specs, and finish plans required for project construction and “brand” approval
Review drawings for code compliance as it relates to Life Safety and ADA requirements
Engage with and manage product representatives, manufacturers, fabricators, contractors and vendors to meet project objectives
Visit work sites to work with contractors and FF&E installers
Attend trade shows and furniture markets, requiring travel
Bachelor’s Degree, from a CIDA accredited interior design program, with a major in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
Minimum of 5 years of interior design or architecture firm work experience
NCIDQ certification required
Strong computer skills in Sketch Up, AutoCAD and Photoshop
Proficiency with the complete Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to create industry standard, creative interior detailing
Firm grasp of the business of interior design business and commitment to help the firm grow
Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills – the ability to communicate clearly and the ability to present designs and ideas successfully
Strong collaborative attitude while working with other team members, clients and contractors
High-level of integrity - willingness to make decisions - balanced and calm perspective
Ability to maintain client confidentiality
