Project Management Lead
is responsible for achieving successful implementation of projects and managing all activities required to define, design, develop and deliver projects or solutions to business sponsors. Primary role involves providing direction and leadership to cross-functional project teams on multiple projects comprised of both Information Technology and Business Components. S/he must be savvy working with both technology and business partners across the organization in a collaborative way.
Reporting to the Head of IT, s/he will be accountable for ensuring resource commitments and project deliverables are met and communicated in a timely manner. Project issues and risks must be identified and tracked, and plans to resolve these issues must be developed and solutions executed.
Leads cross functional project teams both within and outside of IT.
Provide critical leadership to ensure overall quality of project planning and execution, while minimizing and mitigating project risks.
Plan, schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
Manages complex issues and risks requiring evaluation of broad factors, exercises judgment within broadly defined practices.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Ensures projects are executed on time, under budget and meet pre-established goals and objectives that support the financial and business objectives within the organization.
Manages programs within portfolio and makes commitments to meet specific business goals and objectives.
Collaborates with business users to develop the program business case, budget (financial and staffing needs) and justification.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Provides leadership to the team and functional areas to anticipate and identify complex project issues, which pose a challenge to achieving project goals/strategies
Implements plan to resolve such issues and executes corrective actions.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Flexible during times of change.
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related fields.
10+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
Strong familiarity with project management software and collaboration tools, such as MS Project and Sharepoint.
PMP Certification is a plus
Life Sciences industry a plus
