A global automotive components manufacturer near Elkhart, IN is looking for a Quality Engineer to support their metal machining and fabrication facility. The Quality Engineer will work with customers, suppliers and other internal engineers to determine dimensional, physical and functional characteristics of new parts, and to continuously work to improve production processes. The Quality Engineer will be the primary customer contact for the assigned product lines. A 4-year degree from an accredited university is required along with at least 5 years of automotive quality engineering experience. Candidates must have experience in a TS16949 environment and be able to lead APQP, PPAP and FMEA activities. Experience with internal auditing, root cause analysis, complaint investigations and supplier quality control is required. A solid history of customer and supplier development is required. CQE, CQA, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing certifications are pluses. Hands-on experience with statistics (SPC, DOE, Cpk, etc) is strongly preferred.
