Our client is an award winning, industry leading automotive supplier, with a commitment to quality and equipment standards that is unsurpassed in the automotive industry.   We have an immediate opening in the Quality Engineering Department for a Quality Engineer for their location in Plano, Texas.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include:
  • Work with customers and suppliers to understand their needs and resolve issues and concerns regarding line claims and field components.
  • Attend customer trial events and evaluation activities including dealer visits, track quality activities of automotive programs and perform quality/warranty analysis with customers and suppliers to ensure proper component development. 
  • Provide quality and technical support information to Technical/Engineering teams within the OEM including the set up and host meetings in order to provide technical service history received for investigation to the global team. 
  • Support Engineering and Manufacturing on continuous improvement activities including setup of test equipment, tracking, and interpreting data from test equipment.  (OEM field data collection)
  • Prepare summary reports of data collected from the vehicle and provide all information to management for review and analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Support OEM hotline personnel with technical information on automatic transmissions, and Product Engineers on OE and Remanufactured automatic transmissions.  
The ideal candidate must have the following:
  • Mechanical Engineering or Technical Related Degree preferred.
  • 3- 5 years’ experience in Engineering.  
  • Working knowledge of PPAP, APQP (PSW), PFMEA – DFMEA and 8-D preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NVH sound equipment, VIMS, CAN, DIAGRA, CAL VIEW would be helpful.
  • General understanding of automatic transmission and vehicle functions and mechanical aptitude helpful.
  • Familiar with software, vehicle test equipment. 
  • Ability to read engineering drawings preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), planning, organizing, communication, and problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Must be able to operate independently.
  • Ability to travel with limited but reasonable notice (20-25%)
