Olin Chlor Alkali Products has an opening at the St. Gabriel, Louisiana facility for an Electrical Engineer.   This role provides day-to-day technical expertise related to plant process equipment and reliability improvements.

Responsibilities include providing technical support to Maintenance I/E technicians with respect to process transmitters, control valves, and inline analyzers to include troubleshooting equipment problems; developing new specifications when replacing obsolete equipment; performing maintenance PMs and assisting during plant and department shutdowns; serve as the I/E resource on capital projects which includes working with project manager to develop instrumentation requirements and cost estimates; direct outside contractors for maintenance-related activities; procure instrument/electrical equipment; perform Q/A inspections; configure control logic and HMI graphics on plant DCS and PLC systems; assist in installation, commissioning and start up of project; provide training to maintenance technicians to address skill deficiencies or when introducing new instrument technologies; maintain plant data history; support plant Operational and Maintenance Excellence goals; perform as the I/E representative for PHA's and incident investigations; participate in on-call relief, and create and maintain preventative maintenance procedures.  

Qualifications include:  
-BS Electrical Engineering, and 


-8+ years experience, manufacturing process environment preferred; maintenance and engineering experience preferred.

-Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, respective codes, and standards.

-Six Sigma, Kaizen or Lean manufacturing knowledge a plus.

-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products; SAP experience preferred.

-Knowledge of PLC installation, programming and troubleshooting preferred.

Desired skills:
-Knowledgeable in Allen Bradley controllers and Rockwell operator interfaces.

-Troubleshooting and understanding phase controlled DC converters.

-Industrial protocols such as Modbus RTU, Ethernet, HART and Data Highway+ .

-Experience with medium voltage equipment, 4.16 kV and 13.8 kV.

-Programming protective relays such as the GE Multilin.

-Analyze transformer insulating oil test results.
