Our client, a $200MM+ organization, has been helping businesses ensure uninterrupted operations at mission-critical facilities since 1983. Their products, services and strategies maximize uptime for the infrastructure that powers and protects todays most advanced data and communications centers. Our client offers Design/Implementation, Integration, Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance, On-Site Technical Staffing and 24/7 Remote Monitoring from their state-of-the art National Operations Center (NOC).
Due to the growth of the business, they are looking for a senior-level Sales Support Engineer to support their sales team based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. The person hired can live anywhere in the Bay area, and can in general work from home and sometimes visit the local corporate office in San Rafael.
In this role, the SSE will work as a regional resource focused on shortening the sales cycle by overcoming technical hurdles with various opportunities. The SSE will work on a team with designated account executives. The SSE will report to the regional GM and at times may manage technical staff for locally procured short engagements that do not fit established resource pools at corporate.
Responsibilities include:
•Working with Account Executives on joint account calls, webinars, and account planning •Conducting pre-proposal walk-throughs for local turnkey and Design/Build projects •Developing proposals both individually and as a joint effort with corporate resources •Interfacing with various customers at both a business and a technical level and proposing viable solutions in real time during customer meetings •Driving efforts to expand out of scope activity in all respects •Leveraging relationships within organizations to solve technical hurdles and foster awareness of our solutions •Sharing knowledge and best practices to advance sales and improve customer satisfaction •Assisting with the development of our channel partners. This may include conducting joint account calls, updating their technical staff on new products and features, and working with them to develop solutions for customers. •Ensuring effective project kick off and transition to delivery team to improve project continuity and customer satisfaction •Ensuring effective project close out and transition to improve customer satisfaction and identify additional opportunities •As directed by GM, manage local operations staff
Required Experience:
The SSE must have 5 - 10 years of experience in the mission-critical data center industry, solid communication skills, sales ability, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively both in a team as well as independently. The SSE must also be able to communicate complicated technical material in a stressful yet results-oriented environment. The successful candidate must possess a valid drivers license and vehicle for local travel requirements.
