Position: Czochralski Crystal Engineering Manager
Reporting to: VP, Crystal Operations
Location: St. Louis MO vicinity
Salary: $120K to $159K

Relocation: Fully company paid, including closing costs, temporary lodging, packing, moving, and househunting trips.

Vacation/PTO benefits: 24 days first year (includes Holidays)

401K contribution: up to 6.2 %

Primary Responsibility:

Drives projects and activities to reduce cost in supplies and maintenance, improve productivity and throughput in Crystal operations by working and coordinating with each crystal plant organization around the world.

Job Scope:

Work with each crystal manufacturing plant sites appropriate production & engineering personnel and develop opportunities for cost improvement such as: reducing supplies usage, improving first pull attempts, increasing productivity, cycle time and equipment uptime and reducing maintenance and repair costs. Improve and reinforce the ''Best Practices'' process by sharing information from each crystal manufacturing operation and duplicating those efforts to other sites as well.

Principal activities will include but not limited to:

1. Maintaining up to date crystal manufacturing information via plant visits and conference calls with each site team and review production and cost variances against forecasts, and coordinating actions to reduce their costs, take note of new ideas and duplicate that to other sites.

2. Visit sites to know each plants manufacturing processes and production & engineering personnel better and assist them in improving their processes and systems.

3. Study processes and methods that improve our throughput (attempts, equipment downtime, cold time) and materials and supply usage, write procedures as necessary, take pictures and video as necessary and train other sites to do the same thing.

4. Provide regular reports to Sr. Management showing progress of each team in areas of cost, status of actions, and opportunities for improvement.

5. Raise issues to higher management as needed to get the attention needed for action and highlight the teams that did very well.

6. Develops and evaluates crystal manufacturing personnel on a global basis to ensure efficient operations and recommends changes as needed.

7. Develop programs to promote/encourage cost reduction activities.

8. Conduct research into crystal manufacturing industry technology, equipment and process improvements, prepare and submit information to management on strategic plans, objectives and opportunities on emerging trends, opportunities for growth, improving performance and reducing costs.

Knowledge:
• Computer & software proficiency required, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiar with lean, manufacturing tools; six sigma, DOE, etc.

Education/Experience:
• BS in Engineering preferably in material science or industrial engineering.
• Must have at least 3 years as engineering manager in a similar industry.
• Worked as process engineer and/or equipment engineer for at least 5 years.
• Crystal engineering experience is a preference.

Communication:
• Must have good written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
