| A growing ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL in Syracuse, NY is expanding services. The hospital is seeking a PHYSICAL MEDICINE & REHAB REGISTERED NURSE / PM&R RN to add to their team. * Minimum of one (1) actual unit experience is required. * LOCATED in the center of New York State, the city of Syracuse is in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region 40 minutes of Lake Ontario and 15 minutes of Lake Oneida. A short distance from Rochester, Albany, Canada, the St. Lawrence River, the Adirondack Mountains and the Thousand Islands. There is a large selection of year round sports which includes many snow skiing and summer resorts and many tournament class golf courses. There is a Casino with regular scheduled Las Vegas quality shows and concerts. This metro area has 156k people living in the city and 456k in the county. Some schools, both private and public, are nationally renowned for their academics and sports programs. Syracuse is a creative, vibrant, healthy and thriving community. * COMPENSATION ranges from $38.9k per yr./$20.76 per hour, with 1 year experience to $52.4k per year / $27.98 per hour for 8 or more years of experience. Minimum of one (1) year experience is required. * WORK SCHEDULE (approximate) Shifts are 12 hours. Start Times are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 11 am to 11 pm (permanent evenings) Weekend Rotation is 1 x 3 with a possible Holiday Rotation. * LICENSE and EDUCATION required is a application for or possession of a New York State license. Certification in specialty is preferred but not required but a CCRN would be a plus. Must possess current certification in BCLS & ACLS. PALS is plus. * JOB DESCRIPTION: * Provide constant monitoring, assessment and expert treatment. * Possess the knowledge of the latest techniques and equipment for life support. * Devise a nursing plan and assure that plan is carried out. * Coordinate tests and diagnostic procedures. * Possess a high level of judgment, initiative, good communication skill, emotional support skill. * Maintain strong and stable emotional control while working in a environment of crisis. * Possess the knowledge of emergency procedures, techniques and the use of special unit equipment. * Prescribe medication and treatment * Assist physicians during exams and treatment. * Monitor and record patient condition, notifying physician when appropriate. * Provide direction to licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) and other non-licensed nursing personnel. * Support the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital. * Collaborate with other health team members. * Adhere to the philosophy, policies and goals of the facility and department. * BENEFITS : Union Employees ( Non-Exempt) - IRC Section 125 Cafeteria Plan Tax savings are available through Premium Conversion, Dependent Care Spending Accounts and Health Care Spending Accounts. 1.) HEALTH INSURANCE: There are four (4) health insurance plans to choose from and two (2) dental plans Coverage is effective the first of the month following a three-month (90 day) waiting period. Discounts for hospital services including an employee pharmacy are provided. 2.) VACATION, PERSONAL & SICK TIME : Up to 4 weeks of vacation is accrued after completion of one year of employment. Every (5) years 1 more day is accrued. Sick time is accrued up to 11days per year. Personal time is four (4) days per year. 3.) PAID HOLIDAYS : Ten (10) holidays include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and four (4) Floating Holidays. 4.) RETIREMENT PLAN: The Hospital provides a non-contributory defined benefit plan with vested rights after 5 years of service. Tax Sheltered Annuities are available. There is a choice of three (3) insurance companies with a variety of investment funds that offer tax-deferred savings to our employees. 5.) LIFE INSURANCE: Group Term: Full time exempt employees are eligible for coverage in the amount of two times their annual salary. 6.) DISABILITY INSURANCE: Long Term Disability Insurance is provided after three (3) months employment. This is a non-contributory LTD plan which pays 60% of the average salary to a maximum of $10,000 a month after a 180 day waiting period. 7.) CONTINUING EDUCATION REIMBURSEMENT: Up to a maximum reimbursement of $2,400. after 2 years of service. Calculated on a maximum of eight credit hours per year up to a maximum contribution is $300 per credit hour. |
